Baby Animal Rescue Fairies

Robyn the Christmas Party Fairy is the 27th fairy in the Holiday Special Fairies series.

Blurb[]

Rachel and Kirsty are helping to organise a big Christmas party! There's going to be carol singing, a festive feast and a ballet performance. Or that was the plan, before Jack Frost stole Robyn the Christmas Party Fairy's magical objects! The girls must help Robyn, before the spirit of Christmas is lost forever...

Appearance[]

Robyn has long, wavy dark brown hair with a shiny gold band around her head. She wears a long, sparkly elegant raspberry-coloured party dress with matching shoes decorated with gold bows at the toes. Her wings are pointy and tan-tinted.

Symbol: Tiny robins, green holly leaves and stars.

Magic Objects/Job[]

Magic Objects:

  1. The Christmas Cracker: symbolises sharing, happiness and feasting.
  2. The Dancing Shoes: keep Christmas party entertainment fun and exciting.
  3. The Snowglobe: brings the Christmas party spirit to every gathering.

Job: Robyn's job is to make sure all Christmas parties go well.

Jack Frost's Poem[]

Come goblins all from far and near,

It's time to spoil their Christmas cheer.

Instead of parties, games and fun,

Brings tears and sighs to everyone!

The fairies and their human friends,

Think that they can make amends.

But Christmas parties all shall be,

Filled with despair and misery!

The Magical Cracker[]

Kirsty and Rachel in Robyn the Christmas Party Fairy

Rachel and Kirsty are helping Mrs Tate and other community helpers to set up the Christmas party on Christmas Eve. The girls begin to place Christmas crackers at each table but one goes off just as Rachel picks it up. The tinsel doesn’t look sparkly and the decorations won’t stay up. The girls think something’s wrong, and a fairy appears to certify their theory - Robyn is inside one of the faulty crackers. They talk to Robyn, who explains Jack Frost has stolen her magic objects because he was invited to the Christmas Eve party in Fairyland, but his Gobolicious Band wasn’t. She takes them to Fairyland where Imogen the Ice Dance Fairy and Isla the Ice Star Fairy are practising their performance. Robyn shows the girls the big Christmas tree that the Christmas Fairies have been growing. Then she shows them images of Jack Frost and his Goblins snatching Robyn’s bag of magic times. He chants a spell and sends them away: something about a Norwegian who likes to play pranks. Kirsty deducts he must be talking about a Christmas elf in Norwegian tradition, and Robyn knows what she means, taking them to the Barn Elf.

The fairies fly to the middle of the Magic Forest where they come across a wooden lodge. The Barn Elf grumpily greets them and the fairies ask about Jack Frost and Robyn’s magic items. He tells them he won’t help them unless they think of a way to make him want to help them. Rachel notices him holding his back, and asks if he wants them to clean his windows for him. When why’re finished, the Barn Elf explains he received a cracker in the post, but since he’s not loyal to Jack Frost nor the fairies, he’ll let them keep the cracker if they can find it. The fairies search through his cottage and find it sitting among the other crackers on his dining table. The Barn Elf graciously lets them take it, and Robyn promises the girls to collect them later to find the other objects.

The Dancing Shoes[]

The girls are sent back to the human world and continue helping set up for the party. When they’re finished, Mrs Tate suggests they watch the ballet dancers rehearsing in the room next door. The girls walk in to find the rehearsal in chaos, and the dancers messing up. They see a tiny jewellery box open up and see Robyn inside. She reminds them of the next part of Jack Frost’s spell: something about tiaras and tutus. The girls turn into fairies and fly around the rehearsal room but can’t find it anywhere. The fairies watch the rehearsal and see one of the dancers is a goblin, wearing a necklace with Robyn’s dancing shoes on the chain, turned into a small charm. The goblin wows the dancers and the director with his moves, and the fairies spot another goblin sneaking through the dancers to get closer to the dancing shoes necklace. They overhear him mumbling about having to get back to the Ice Castle to give Jack Frost the shoes for his own dance competition.

Just then, Kirsty has an idea and asks Robyn to turn her and Rachel into ballerinas. They join the other dancers and the rehearsal starts again. The goblin twirls past Kirsty but she can’t reach the charm in time. He pirouettes by Rachel but she can’t grab it either. Mrs Tate enters the room and the girls stop in panic because she’ll recognise them. All the other dancers bump into them and everyone falls into a giant pile. The charm falls off the goblin’s neck, and the girls and two goblins scrabble over it as they try to escape the pile. Rachel grabs it and pulls Kirsty behind the curtains before Mrs Tate sees them. Robyn thanks the girls, takes her dancing shoes and disappears. The goblins stomp out of the room, and Rachel and Kirsty appear beside Mrs Tate, watching the perfect rehearsal.

The Snowglobe[]

It’s time for the Christmas party to begin and Mrs Tate takes the girls to the town square where the carol singers will lead the party guests to the town hall, where the party will take place. When they get to the clock tower, they see the carol singers have lost their sheet music and forgotten the songs. While everyone faffs around, the girls ponder about Jack Frost’s spell, which says the snowglobe is hidden ‘where pesky fairies won’t think to look’, and Rachel thinks he means the magical glade where the fairies’ party is taking place. They use their magic lockets to go to Fairyland and find Robyn, Natalie the Christmas Stocking Fairy and Chrissie the Wish Fairy standing around looking nervous. They see all the other Christmas fairies (Holly, Cheryl, Paige, Stella, Gabriella and Angelica), and tell them what Rachel thought about the snowglobe’s location. All the fairies begin to search around but they can’t find it anywhere. Kirsty remembers the one place they haven’t looked is under the broken stage.

As the fairies peer through the broken wood planks, they realise there might be a goblin under there. Robyn magics some black pepper through the gap and the goblin sneezes - he’s certainly there and he’s got the snowglobe. Robyn makes them even smaller to fit through the gap and they find a goblin crouched against the planks of wood. His nose is frozen and he doesn’t look like he’s having a good time. The fairies try to convince him to give them the snowglobe so he can go back home, but he refuses.

Robyn waves her wand and conjures up a smell of apple blossom and a warm breeze. Tinkly ballet music begins to play and the goblin can’t stand it, so he bursts out of the stage but stumbles on the rubble of the broken stage. Jack Frost appears and demands for the snowglobe, but the goblin drops it, and Robyn catches it. He scolds the goblin and magics them away, leaving the fairies to bask in their success. The stage becomes fixed, and the party begins. All their fairy friends join them, and even Jack Frost turns up. Robyn uses her Christmas spirit magic to make him well-tempered, and Robyn sends Rachel and Kirsty back home to enjoy their own Christmas party. The ballerinas dance perfectly, the food tastes great and the carol singers sound good. Father Christmas enters and gives everyone presents, and the girls hug each other, saying how this Christmas Eve has been the best ever.
