Jack Frost's Poem[]

Winter is my time of year,

Why should it bring others cheer?

Why do they like the wind and snow?

This is what I want to know.

They celebrate with candles and trees,

But winter should bring them to their knees!

Only I should enjoy the chill,

And so I'll break all others' will.

I stole Michelle's magic things,

We'll see what havoc my crime brings.

No snow! No sun! No fun snow play,

Winter gloom is here to stay.

The Snow Globe Search[]

Rachel and Kirsty are on board a ferry on its way to Snowbound Island for the Winter Wonder Festival. While they talk, Mr Tate asks them to come indoors as the captain said the sea is becoming dangerous. The girls enter the cabin and Kirsty says she thought she heard a bell. Rachel begins to think it could be a fairy, Kirsty whispers if Jack Frost might be up to something and Rachel says she doesn't want him to ruin Mrs Tate's weekend. As the ferry docks, a lodge worker named Devi greets them and leads them all inside the lodge. Rachel comments on the cold and Devi explains the forecast said the temperature dropped but it should warm up. She also says there is not enough snow on the hills for sledging and ski-ing. Rachel says it wasn't a coincidence that Kirsty heard a bell and Kirsty reminds her that the magic has to come to them. The girls go into their lodge bedroom where it is too hot. Mr Tate enters their room and says their heating unit is too hot as well, and leaves to tell the front desk. Kirsty stares into the heating unit before turning it off; as she does so, a fairy flutters out from inside the unit.

The fairy cools herself down before introducing herself as Michelle the Winter Wonderland Fairy, and explains that the goblins stole her objects. Kirsty asks where they are, and Michelle suspects they're somewhere on the island. Jack Frost sent the objects to the human world, taking her and the goblins with them, which is how she ended up in the heating unit. She then describes each object and its job. Devi knocks on the girls' door to invite them on a sleigh ride with real horses. As they wait, Rachel says it would be better if it snowed and Michelle says it will happen if they find her snow globe. During the sleigh ride, the cold worsens and the horses walk slowly. It begins to rain, and Rachel hears the sound of a happy horse. Michelle creates a fairy-sized sleigh and turns Rachel and Kirsty into fairies and they ride to the source. They find two goblins in their own sleigh pulled by two horses, one goblin holding up the snow globe. Michelle creates a pouch; flying close to the goblins' sleigh, the girls grab the snow globe and drop it into the pouch. The snow globe shrinks to fairy size and Michelle hugs it. She returns the girls to their sleigh ride, where it goes much more smoothly and it snows.

Hot on the Hat Trail[]

The next morning, Rachel and Kirsty wake up and get dressed to go to the lodge restaurant for breakfast. Devi says they're free to go outside, and Kirsty looks out the window to see the trees bending in the wind. She suggests staying inside until the magic comes to them. Devi tells them about a crafts session that morning, and the girls join in, making ornaments for the birds. They notice some lodge workers talking; Rachel decides to listen in while pouring herself some hot chocolate. The workers are worried about the animals. As they discuss what to do, Kirsty sees a message, Join me, girls! written in frost on the window. They put on their winter gear and tell Kirsty's parents they're going outside. They barely take a step when they're both frozen against the door.

Michelle uses her magic to unfreeze the girls and hides in Kirsty's coat hood. They hang up their ornaments, and hear goblins nearby. They tramp through the snow to a clearing, where a group of goblins are playing, one of whom is wearing the magic hat. Michelle tries to reason with the goblins, but they run away to some chairlifts on the ski slopes. At the hill top, the goblins get out of the chairlift and use inflatable rubber rings to slide down the slope. The girls and Michelle follow until the goblins crash into a snowdrift, and the girls sort through the goblins winter gear and Kirsty finds the magic hat. She gives it to Michelle, who returns to Fairyland, and the girls help the goblins out of the snow. The goblins go back to the Ice Castle and the girls witness animals coming out of their burrows.

The Longest Night[]

Kirsty and Rachel wake up on their last day, but they find it is still dark outside. A spark suddenly appears and they follow it outside. The spark reveals itself as Michelle, since her magic is very weak and being a spark takes less energy. The girls and Michelle walk along, Michelle explaining the science behind the equinoxes. They find the animals in the barn sleeping and Rachel says the barn should be busy; Michelle says people are still sleeping and Kirsty insists people should wake up so they can have fun. Rachel notices a log that will be used for the campfire, reminding Michelle of a saying King Oberon said: "You can only do what you can do." The girls use this advice to work out the magic lantern and candle were taken back to Fairyland.

The girls use their lockets to transport themselves and Michelle to Fairyland. They find light on one side of the Ice Castle and approach to see goblins building a stage in a clearing. Sitting on a pedastal on the stage is the magic lantern. The fairies first plan is to fly in and grab the lantern, but they fly into an anti-fairy force field. The goblins see them and throw snowballs, causing the fairies to slow down and a flock of snowbirds save them. The bird carrying Michelle flies up to the lantern to let her grab it. She thanks the birds for their help and sends Rachel and Kirsty back to Snowbound Island. When they return, it is noon and Devi and the workers are preparing for the celebration. The girls find Kirsty's parents and they have an afternoon of fun. At the campfire, Michelle thanks the girls and gives them magic rings that snow, and the girls re-join the fire.
