Aunt Lesley is practising her speech for the awards night in front of Rachel and Kirsty. As a thank-you for saving Pushkin back in Ariana the Firefighter Fairy’s story, Bailey’s mum is taking the girls and Bailey to the local pool... for a swimming lesson... as a thank-you. When they get there and get lined up with the other children, Mark the lifeguard starts the lesson and jumps in to demonstrate a front crawl. However, he appears to start drowning, and climbs out, mortified that he’s forgotten how to swim. Mark cancels the lesson and the girls go to get dressed again when they find Lulu in the changing rooms. The girls hear something coming from the pool area and see three Goblins playing with inflatables. Jack Frost is there too, swimming with Lulu’s magic rescue float.
Lulu turns the girls into goblins and the girls jump in next to Jack Frost, demanding he give them the float. He splashes them and gets out of the pool, deciding he wants to swim in his private moat without the goblins. He disappears, and Lulu turns the girls into fairies, magicking them to Fairyland by the Ice Castle. Jack Frost is swimming around the moat, spectated by a group of goblins. Kirsty asks Lulu to magic up a giant trophy and a finish line. Rachel tells Jack Frost and the goblins they’re organising a race, and everyone wants to take part. Jack Frost can only take part if he doesn’t use the float. But Jack Frost wants to win so badly, he gives the float to another goblin to hold. Lulu whizzes up to him and takes it, quickly whistling to start the race. All the goblins jump in the moat and start swimming.
Jack Frost wants to win so badly he ignores the magic float and jumps in but starts drowning. Lulu jumps in after him and uses her lifeguarding charisma to guide him back to the edge. The fairies lecture him on the importance of lifeguards and how he should practise swimming. Just then, a goblin passes the finishing line and Kirsty awards the trophy to him. Lulu magics a swimming certificate into Jack Frost’s hands, and he’s happy. Everyone’s happy so Lulu magics the girls to the Fairyland Palace, where King Oberon, Queen Titania and the other Helping Fairies thank them for their services. Queen Titania gives them a badge with a picture of two hands clasped together on it as a sign of their gratitude. They return the girls to the leisure centre where Mark is swimming again, and tells the girls that the lesson’s back on. That evening, the girls and Mr and Mrs Walker are watching the Helper of the Year Award show, and The Mayor announces the winner is Lesley. She does her thank-you speech and the other three nominees join her on the stage. The girls look at their fairy badges and remember how much they enjoy helping people.
