Rachel is showing her parents the painting of her Kirsty did yesterday. The two girls decide to go to the Crafts Week story-writing workshop and begin to note down ideas for a story about the Rainbow Fairies. However, they can’t remember the exact details, and Mr Walker becomes frustrated at the confused plot of his Western book. The girls realise this is because Libby’s magic object is missing, and set off to the workshop in the park, which is held by their favourite author Poppy Fields. Poppy begins to read the story of Sleeping Beauty, and the story slowly begins to make no sense, and the same for Little Red Riding Hood. Eventually, she gives up and sets the children off on brainstorming ideas for a group story. No one can think of anything, so Poppy gives up and lets everyone write their own story, but once again, no one can come up with any ideas. Libby appears from inside Rachel’s notebook, and the three spot a boy sitting alone scribbling down a story. It’s a goblin.

The girls go over to the goblin and ask to hear his story, realising he’s been writing in Libby’s magic notebook. He reads a story of an enslaved goblin (himself) who decides to rise up against his master Jack Frost. All the children in the workshop begin to listen to his story, as it ends with the goblin overthrowing Jack Frost and becoming the emperor. The kids beg for him to continue, and Poppy calls for a snack break so he can write more. Once again, the girls decide to flatter the goblin, offering to swap notebooks to read each other’s stories. However, the goblin spots Libby inside Rachel’s pencil case and runs away, causing the other children to follow to hear the rest of the story. He climbs a tree and the girls turn into fairies. Kirsty scares him, and he drops the notebook, which is caught by another goblin. He runs away to the playground, declaring he’ll write his own story.

Rachel thinks of a plan, and gets Libby to magic her and Kirsty into Craft Week judges. They approach the goblin, who is surrounded by children as he takes over the other goblin’s story. They ask him to give them the notebook to turn the story into a book that will be sold everywhere. Without a second thought, the goblin gives them the notebook, and Libby whips out and takes it back. The two goblins end up arguing, but Libby magics up two green notebooks containing their own stories. Libby wishes the girls good luck in their writing workshop, and disappears. Back at the workshop, all the kids are writing happily, with Poppy helping. Rachel writes a story about the Rainbow Fairies, and Poppy praises it, particularly enjoying the character Ruby the Red Fairy. She encourages her to enter it into the Crafts Week competition, and the girls exchange a knowing smile.
