Feeling worried, scared and small?

GREAT! That sounds like fun for all.

With Ivy's objects I will see

All humans steeped in misery.

Happy people aren't appealing.

I don't care how glad they're feeling!

Make them anxious - make them sad.

It feels so good to be this bad!

The Worry Stone[]

Rachel, Kirsty and their parents are staying at the Olive House Family Mindfulness Retreat for the weekend. Mrs Walker and Mrs Tate take them to the meditation class but when they get there, the leader Josh is full of anxiety as is everyone else, so he cancels the class. When the girls and their mums go into the dining hall for breakfast, everyone is talking about how on edge they are. The girls spot a bunch of flowers glowing and Ivy appears from out of them, explaining how Jack Frost has stolen her magic objects to help people stop worrying. He gave the worry stone to a goblin and sent him to Olive House, so the girls agree to turn into fairies to help look for him.

As the fairies fly through the corridors, the goblin with the stone spots them and runs into the garden, crashing a yoga class led by Christy, which is full of worried people. He joins in, wearing a baseball cap that probably has the stone under it. The fairies turn into butterflies to try and pull the goblin’s hat off while he’s around other people, but everyone else is too worried to look at them. They manage to get under the hat and find the stone, but he feels them tickling his head, so runs out of the yoga class and throws the cap off, tossing the stone somewhere into the bushes. The fairies apologise for scaring him, but he doesn’t care and scoops up the stone.

The fairies try to negotiate with him. They make him realise how much he enjoyed that yoga class, and it will be ruined if Jack Frost has the worry stone. The goblin confides in them that he’s worried of being in trouble, but Ivy says that once she has the stone, he won’t be worried anymore. The goblin stoutly agrees and gives them the stone back, returning to the yoga class to enjoy himself. Ivy thanks the girls and disappears.

The Sparkling Spinner[]

The next day, the girls are looking at the timetable to decide what to do. Mr Walker and Mr Tate suggest they join them doing organic gardening while their mums get massage therapy. They all walk to the gardens where the gardener Connie greets them, and sets them off doing different jobs. Connie instructs everyone to think only about the work, as that is what mindful gardening is all about. But as the girls work, they can’t hear anyone else doing anything, so they turn to see them all curled up on the floor worrying about other things. As the girls carry on weeding, they dig up Ivy clinging onto a root, who says she found two goblins by the meditation lake with her sparkling spinner.

As the girls make their way to the lake, they begin to feel worried about falling over on the narrow path, but Ivy casts a spell to keep them calm for the day. They continue on, finding the goblins at the side of the path pulling up plants. The spinner is giving them energy, so Kirsty suggests they play with them and they might just become friendly enough that the goblins will give the fidget spinner back. Ivy magics up some music and the girls start dancing. The goblins look over and can’t resist joining in, so the girls and goblins having fun dancing. Then Ivy magics up a box of instruments and they all start making music. By the time they start a game of football, the girls are exhausted but the goblins are still hopping about.

Eventually, the girls decide this plan is not working, so they just confront the goblins about the spinner, but they run away, climbing a tree. However, the one with the fidget spinner slips and drops it, and the girls find it before the goblins can. Ivy gratefully takes it, and the goblins are upset because they will be in Jack Frost’s bad books. For that, Ivy magics up a bunch of ‘Jack Frost’ flowers (Brunnera) that will grow in shady places, perfect for the Ice Castle. The goblins skip off and Ivy thanks the girls, flying back to Fairyland. The girls run back to the organic garden where everyone’s busy doing work.

The Serenity Balls[]

The girls and their parents are attending the final evening activity, the feelings workshop. All the people in Olive House gather and talk about what the mindfulness weekend has done for them, but people say how they will still feel worried when they get home. Suddenly, everyone freezes, and the girls look up at the fireplace to find Ivy, who has frozen time to take the girls to Fairyland without anyone noticing. They fly on a fluffy cloud towards a meadow where Ivy says The Woodland Fairies saw Jack Frost. They find him in the meadow meditating, and holding two green balls.

The girls turn into daisies to spy on him closer, and overhear Jack Frost calmly ranting to himself about Jilly Chilly, how she was the root of most of his problems. He announces to his goblins that he’s going to see Jilly Chilly in the mountains where she lives and tell her how he feels. However, one goblin reminds him how he said the root of all his problems was actually Frosty and his Gobolicious Band not being famous enough, and Jack Frost’s muddled anxiety increases. The fairies decide to go in hard and grab the balls as Jack Frost meditates with his eyes closed. Ivy distracts the goblins and the girls manage to grab each serenity ball. But Jack Frost quickly grabs Rachel’s arm and disappears with her.

Kirsty and Ivy go to the Fairyland Palace and ask Bertram to find Queen Titania so they can use the Seeing Pool. They learn Rachel has been taken to Jilly Chilly’s home in the Ice Mountains, and Queen Titania sends them there by magic. Kirsty and Ivy enter her tower of ice to find Rachel, Jack Frost and Jilly Chilly arguing about taking power over Fairyland. Kirsty has an idea and asks Ivy to melt the tower. She does so and Jilly and Jack flee as it melts. When Rachel reunites with Kirsty and Ivy, she gives Ivy the other serenity ball, and Ivy thanks them. She magics them back to the human world where Christy asks Rachel and Kirsty to talk about their time at Olive House. The two friends say it’s been a magical weekend.
