Miranda the Beauty Fairy is the first fairy in the Fashion Fairies series.

Rachel, Kirsty and Mrs Walker are visiting Tippington Fountains Shopping Centre to watch the opening ceremony. The famous model Jessica Jarvis gives a speech and announces a children’s fashion design competition; the girls decide they will enter. The shopping centre is opened and Rachel and Kirsty explore on their own. They spot a sparkle on top of a fountain, and Phoebe the Fashion Fairy flies towards them and invites them to a fashion show in the Fairyland Palace organised by her helpers, the Fashion Fairies. The girls eagerly accept the invitation and Phoebe magics them to the palace where King Oberon and Queen Titania introduce them to the seven fairies. Bertram introduces the first model, Ruby the Red Fairy. However, her red dress begins to turn icy-blue, and Jack Frost struts down the catwalk, followed by his Goblins. He announces his plan - to make everyone in the world wear only his brand, Ice Blue - and steals the Fashion Fairies’ magic items out of their hands, then disappears. Rachel and Kirsty reassure the Queen they will get the objects back and Miranda takes them back to the shopping centre.

The girls are looking for Mrs Walker and find her in the make-up shop Beautiful You. Mrs Walker turns to them and reveals her face caked in clown make-up. The make-up artist is embarrassed, and Mrs Walker lets the girls explore a bit longer so the make-up can be fixed. They wander around the Beautiful You shop and find some goblins applying make-up to each other. Miranda recognises her magic lipstick so she turns the girls into fairies so they can follow the goblins out of the shop. They smell something horrible coming from Bath Bliss, and Miranda explains the bath products have become nasty thanks to her missing lipstick. The goblins love the smell, however, and Rachel has a plan. She goes into Bath Bliss and asks the shop assistant for a free sample of bubble bath. Rachel goes over to the goblins and compliments their make-up, and gives them the bubble bath to share. As the goblins grapple for it, Miranda and Kirsty try to find the lipstick it their pockets but the goblins drop the bubble bath into the fountain, warding all the other shoppers off from the bad smell.

The goblins start to play in the bubbles instead and Kirsty asks Miranda to magic up more bubbles to distract the goblins. As they play around, the lipstick falls out of one goblin’s pocket and Miranda picks it up. The bubbles instantly smell of chocolate and oranges, disgusting the goblins, so they leave. The girls notice business in Bath Bliss is booming and the makeovers in Beautiful You are more natural. Miranda thanks the girls for their help and disappears, leaving the girls to meet Mrs Walker at Sweet Scoop Ice Cream Parlour, thinking about their entries to the design competition.
