Ellie the Guitar Fairy is the second fairy in the Music Fairies series.

Fairy Profile from the Official RM Facebook Page[]

Instead of just waving her wand like the others, Ellie likes to play it like an electric guitar, sending out a shower of hot guitar riffs and bright blue Fairy magic. Ellie is very bold and likes to be center stage. She never passes up a chance to perform, and loves to get Fairyland place rocking. Some of her biggest fans are goblins, who often pester her for her autograph!

Blurb[]

Ellie the Guitar Fairy needs Rachel's and Kirsty's help! The pesky goblins have stolen all of the Music Fairies' Magical Musical Instruments. Without them, music sounds awful in Fairyland and in the human world!

Appearance[]

Ellie has pale skin with short glossy, black hair. She wears a light blue jacket over a sequinned vest top, a gold belt around an electric blue skirt, purple leggings, and lavender purple baseball boots. Her wings are round and blue-tinted.

Symbol: Yellow guitar picks.

Magic Object/Job[]

Magic Object: A red and yellow guitar

Job: Making sure all music - including looking after all guitarists - is kept harmonious and that everybody plays instruments well.

Rachel and Kirsty are eating breakfast when Kirsty’s father walks in shaking a tambourine. He, Kirsty’s Uncle John, and some friends are meeting that morning for band practice in the Tates’ barn. Because most of the magical instruments are missing, they aren’t doing very well, and Kirsty suggests riding bikes into town in hopes that they’ll encounter a goblin with an instrument. On her way to get her bike, Kirsty knocks over her dad’s friend Dave’s guitar case; it opens and Ellie the Guitar Fairy flies out the sound hole in the guitar. Fortunately, the men are busy discussing sheet music and don’t notice. The girls quickly smuggle Ellie out of the barn just in time to see a short figure in a long coat, sunglasses, and a hat walk up the path. He claims to be the band’s lead singer and heads for the barn, while the girls inform Ellie that the Goblins are no longer green because of Jack Frost’s spell. The girls try to sneak in after the suspected goblin (and get bike helmets, which they’d forgotten), but Rachel trips over the cord for Mr. Tate’s keyboard and the stranger helps her up politely. Seeing his face up close, Rachel realises he isn’t a goblin - which Kirsty points out once they’re outside that they should have guessed by the band members recognising the man.

Wheeling their bikes away from the barn, the girls hear the band start up again, much better this time. They even hear an electric guitar, which is strange because Dave doesn’t have one, but it turns out there’s a goblin behind the barn playing along with the band on Ellie’s magic guitar. Ellie hides behind Rachel, who asks the goblin to stay and play a little longer when it looks like he’s about to leave. Kirsty asks him to show her how to play a few chords, and he happily demonstrates but won’t let her try. Impulsively, Ellie flies into view and demands her guitar back, but the goblin scrambles out of reach, slings the guitar over his back, and pedals away on Kirsty’s bike, announcing he’s off to the music store to perform. Ellie turns the girls into fairies to follow and they end up making it there before him.

At the girls’ suggestion, Ellie conjures a sign saying “Lead Guitarists This Way!” pointing to a dead-end alley, and turns the girls back into humans. They hide behind some smelly garbage cans as the goblin approaches, dismounting the bike by the sign. Kirsty tells Ellie to chase him towards them, and when she does the girls begin throwing the rotting fruit from the garbage at him. The goblin holds the guitar up away from the fruit, and with the help of some banana peels moved by Ellie’s magic, he skids, flails, and lets go of the guitar. Ellie’s fairy dust shrinks the guitar and slows its fall enough for Rachel to catch it and hand it to her. Ellie clears away the mess and the sign with a magical song, then teleports the girls and Kirsty’s bike back to just outside the Tates’ barn, where the band is sounding significantly better.
