Jack Frost's Poem[]
Now Topaz makes each fairy pest
Quite confident that they know best.
But when I steal her gems so bright,
Each fairy's wisdom will take flight.
I'll make them fear and hesitate,
Until they're in an awful state.
And when they cannot give advice,
I'll cover Fairyland in ice!

Believing in Yourself[]
Rachel and Kirsty are cross-stitching in Rachel’s sitting room after the rain foiled their plans to collect stones and paint inspirational messages on them and put them back on the beach. Just then, they hear a bell-like giggle and watch a fairy fly from out of nowhere. She introduces herself as Evelyn, and invites the girls to Fairyland to watch the Mermicorn Festival, explaining what a mermicorn is. She doesn’t use her wand on Mermicorn Festival day so she blows some fairy dust onto their heads and they all apparate to Mermicorn Island. Shannon the Ocean Fairy greets them and they all go to the seashore to watch a mermicorn called Topaz swim out of a whirlpool. Evelyn leads the girls out to pet her and admire her necklace of gems. Even more mermicorns appear among the waves but suddenly a speedboat comes speeding through, driven by Jack Frost. The goblins throw a net over Topaz, with Jack Frost explaining how he wants the gems around Topaz’s neck so the fairies won’t feel confident enough to stand up against him. He takes the necklace and speeds off in his speedboat.
Kirsty suggests they fly to the Ice Castle so Evelyn sends the mermicorns back to Mermicorn City but Topaz wants to accompany the fairies. The three fairies fly towards the castle, but see a rowing boat in the middle of the sea. Topaz circles the boat of two goblins and the girls notice one of them is holding a blue gem. The goblins start complaining to the fairies about having to guard the gem on a boat in the middle of the ocean, and the fairies suggest they just give it back so they won’t have to guard it. However, the goblins start arguing and one of them falls in, with Topaz saving him. He gently thanks her and puts the gem back around her neck, and the fairies cheer because Topaz’s nice-making magic made the goblin feel like doing the right thing. The fairies fly to the Fairyland Palace.
Speaking Your Mind[]
Bertram greets the fairies when they get to the palace and points them to the Seeing Pool where Queen Titania is waiting for them. She shows them a scene of Jack First giving a pink gem to a young goblin and ordering him to hide it. He also gives him a gadget - a magic snowflake that will turn into a net when it’s thrown, and send whoever’s caught to the dungeons, rising the stakes. Of course the fairies agree to go to Goblin Grotto, so they fly there. Evelyn does some magic to keep them warm and they explore the village. They come across some goblins surrounding a goblin standing on a soapbox, shouting his opinions. That’s because that is the goblin who has the pink gem and he is comfortably speaking his mind. Then he stomps off down an alleyway and into a hut, where he lives.
The fairies need to get inside so Evelyn turns them into mice and they scatter inside. The goblin is scheming to himself, saying out loud how he hid the gem in his chimney. The fairies can’t get up there as mice or fairies, so they need to do something else. They decide to trick him into thinking they’re getting close to the gem, so he will move it to another place. It works, and he takes the gem out of its hiding place and puts it on the mantelpiece. Rachel and Kirsty decide to climb onto his table and nibble at the goblin’s cakes, distracting him while Evelyn gets the gem. He turns towards Evelyn at the wrong time so Rachel and Kirsty jump onto him, distracting him even more as Evelyn takes the gem and turns them back into fairies. She magic them safely back to Mermicorn Island and puts the gem around Topaz’s neck. She then asks the girls if they’d like to swim with the mermicorns, and they eagerly agree.
Helping Others[]
When they’re done playing, the fairies go back to the Fairyland Palace to tell the Queen the good news, but she’s worried that her advice isn’t wise, because of the last missing gem. Bertram arrives to tell them that a flock of fairies have gone to Mermicorn Island because some Amazing Advisor told them it was safe. The fairies fly there to find a tepee where fairies are queuing up to get advice from the Amazing Advisor. The fairies sneak in through the back and find two of the Amazing Advisor’s Helpers - goblins. They overhear them talking about catching Topaz again, but before they leave, they hear some fairies talking to the Amazing Advisor, giving rubbish advice about hiding things from Jack Frost and making rivalries. Suddenly, the Amazing Advisor bursts through the back of the tent demanding water - it’s Jack Frost himself, and he’s wearing the green gemstone around his neck.
Jack Frost sends off his goblins to find the mermicorns and take their magic, since apparently they have time-travel, wish-granting and illness-curing magic. Soon enough, the goblins return saying they’ve spotted the mermicorn, and Jack Frost and the goblins jump onto a fishing boat, the fairies hanging onto the back as it sails. Jack Frost hooks a bottle containing the gem onto a fishing line and casts it, hoping to catch some mermicorns. Kirsty has an idea for Evelyn to cast the famous fairy spell of breathable bubbles so they can swim down and get the gem. Rachel unties the bottle from the rope but her head bobs above water level, the goblins spotting her. A fight ensues but eventually the bottle is dropped, falling deep into the depths of the ocean. The goblins retreat, with Jack Frost steering the boat away, still satisfied that the fairies won’t ever feel confident about giving advice again without the gemstone. However, a mermaid named Pearl comes swimming up to the fairies, holding the gemstone. Evelyn puts it around Topaz’s neck and everyone is happy again. She thanks the girls and sends them home, where Mr Walker enters with cups of hot chocolate.Trivia[]
