Fairy Profile from the Official RM Facebook Page[]
Abigail makes it easy to fly a kite when she directs the wind to blow in great gusts. Her emerald green wand has a shining golden tip that showers little bursts of swirling golden leaves. Abigail is into wind power, and is very eco-conscious. She's forever launching new 'green' projects for Fairyland. She also has the world's largest collection of hats, which she would love to return to their owners if she could find them.

Abigail the Breeze Fairy has been blown off-course without her wispy wind feather. Will Rachel and Kirsty be able to find the feather and bring calm to the blustery village fete?

Rachel has come to visit Kirsty a few months after their vacation on Rainspell Island. The girls are looking for another of Doodle’s feathers (or a goblin with one), but a rustle in a bush turns out to be only cats. Kirsty’s mum suggests she and Rachel go cheer on Kirsty’s gran in the Summer Festival cake competition that day. On their way, envelopes start blowing past the girls, followed by a harried postman whom they help catch all the letters as the church bell starts clanging in the strong wind. The wind is causing trouble at the festival too - tents wobbling, vendors struggling to hold onto things, a balloon escaping the boy holding it. Kirsty catches the balloon and returns it to the boy, and is greeted by her gran, who meets Rachel and shows off a tin with her chocolate fudge cake inside. A grumpy old lady who pushes by is Gran’s rival in the contest, Mrs. Adelstrop. The girls enter the contest tent where they see Mrs. Adelstrop display her lemon-garnished cake. Gran brings in her cake, which looks beautiful and delicious, topped with chocolate leaves, but a gust of wind blows a rope of flags into the tent, tripping her and sending the cake straight into the judge’s face.
Kirsty looks around for goblins and instead spots a fairy on top of a cake, pretending to be a decoration. She and Rachel recognise Abigail the Breeze Fairy from their visit to Fairyland, and tell her they’re looking for a goblin but there isn’t one in the tent. Abigail hides in Rachel’s hair and they leave the tent just as it collapses behind them from the wind. Luckily, no one seems to be hurt, but the wind is getting worse. Kirsty hears barking and recognizes her neighbor’s dog Twiglet, who has a bit of dirty brown leather in his mouth and keeps barking at the sky. The girls follow his gaze to a red and orange hot air balloon that doesn’t seem affected by the wind, and use their magic lockets to turn into fairies and follow it. The wind makes flying tricky, but the girls stay close to Abigail and make it to the basket, where a goblin with the Breeze Feather is taunting Twiglet, whom he seems a bit afraid of. Rachel suggests that Kirsty turns human in the basket and distract the goblin while she turns off the balloon burner. This works, and Kirsty interrupts the goblin’s taunts to point out that the balloon is sinking, which scares the goblin (the leather in Twiglet’s mouth was part of his outfit).
Abigail tells the goblin there’s too much weight in the balloon basket, even after Kirsty turns herself back into a fairy and flies out of reach. Dropping the balloon’s sandbags doesn’t help, so the goblin finally throws the Breeze Feather after being reminded by Abigail that a pound of feathers weighs as much as a pound of rocks and seeing Twiglet jumping at the balloon. All three fairies are tossed by the out-of-control wind, but Abigail is able to catch the feather with a little help from her wand, stop the windstorm, and blow the goblin’s balloon away. The girls return to the festival, where things are being tidied up, and change back to humans, finding out that Gran won the cake contest because her cake tasted so good it didn’t matter what shape it was. When the girls go back to Kirsty’s house and give Doodle the Breeze Feather back, he’s able to add another word to his message: "Jack", which leads the girls to suspect he’s trying to warn them about Jack Frost. But they’ll have to get the other five feathers to hear the rest.Trivia[]
- Breezy autumn is Abigail's favourite time of year - she loves to fly among the falling golden leaves.
- Abigail is best friends with Autumn the Falling Leaves Fairy.
- Abigail's breeze feather is copper coloured.
- Her name may be a play on words, as the final part of her name, Abigail, sounds similar to the word gale. A gale being a very strong wind.
